Taking the fear out of ‘Titus Andronicus’

AN award winning Shakespearean actor will hold a pre-audition workshop ahead of The Playhouse’s most ambitious 2013 production, ‘Titus Andronicus.’

Veteran actor Liam Brennan has extensive experience performing Shakespeare on the West End, and will take up lead role in ‘Twelfth Night’ on Broadway later this year.

In a unique opportunity for local actors Liam will ‘Take the Fear Out of Shakespeare’ at a free workshop on Saturday, March 23. Directed by BAFTA award winning director Kenny Glenaan, ‘Titus Andronicus’ will open at The Playhouse in September.

A key highlight of The Playhouse’s 2013 programme, the play will be re-imagined in contemporary Northern Ireland, under the direction of BAFTA award winning Director Kenny Glenaan. The play will premiere at The Playhouse on Monday 23 September and run until Saturday 28.

“This is a very special opportunity for local emerging actors to train under an expert Shakespeare actor and then be seen by a BAFTA award winning Director, who it’s worth mentioning, will be filming in the city next year!” Kieran Griffiths, Playhouse 2013 theatre producer said.
