Taking the lead on loose dogs

Ballymena Alderman Martin Clarke has highlighted the “very serious problem” of unleashed dogs in local public parks.

Speaking at last Monday night’s monthly Council meeting, Ald. Clarke asked that the People’s Park be particularly targeted in any crackdown by officers of the local authority

A dog warden said that all parks are governed by bye-laws stating that a dog must be kept on a lead.

Nigel Devine added: “All such breaches are dealt with by way of a fine.
