The show, one part of Cookstown’s three-night comedy festival promises to be a hoot.

And although pulling in greats such as O’Hanlon and Kielty, it is also giving homegrown talent a platform - something O’Donnell said he would like to see more of.

“Everybody is interested in comedy, especially in Northern Ireland,” he said, but comedy clubs don’t seem to do that well. Come out and watch local comedy too - it’s just as good.”

And as for what to expect on the night from the Moneymore native, he said: “It’s going to be as raw and crude as it usually is, but that’s what the people want.”

Cookstown Comedy Festival is on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Tickets for all of the shows are available from the Burnavon.

After that, O’Donnell is planning a joint project with Déan ‘son of a goat farmer’ Ó Gruigaín who gained recent internet fame with his election synopsis... watch this space.
