Talented performers shine at Carrick Music Festival

The curtain has come down on another successful Carrickfergus Musical Festival after more than two weeks of competition.

The annual talent showcase attracted over 1,000 entries with family and supporters swelling the number of visitors to the town.

Result: Solo for Brass under 12 yrs - 1st Zeki Kaya 86, 2nd Thomas Sloan and Erin Brown 81, 3rd Kathryn Howard 80. Solo for Brass 12-15 yrs - 1st David Sharpe 86, 2nd Michael Brodison 84, 3rd Jack Magee 81.

Brass Ensemble under 12 - St Brides Primary School 85, Dundonald PS, highly commended. Solo for Brass 16-18 years - 1st Sam Brodison 92, 2nd Leah Forsythe 89.

Flute under 12 - 1st Anna Officer 86, 2nd Caroline McMichael, Beatrice Toogood and Emily Wilson 85, 3rd Poppy Walker 84.

Clarinet/ Saxophone under 12 - 1st Naomi Higginson 86, 2nd Holly McConnell and Kate Donnelly 85, 3rd Josie Lawther 84.

Grade 5 Piano - 1st Benjamin Dang 87, 2nd Grace Fung and Kaifuu Lia 86, 3rd Niall Poland and Ryan Joseph 85.

Grade 6 Piano - 1st William Rong 87, 2nd Amy Armstrong 86. Grade 7 Piano - 1st Laurence Li 88, 2nd Zak Thabeth 87, 3rd Robyn Chambers 85.
