Talk and recital planned for LisburnLibrary

Lisburn City Library will host a talk and recital on ‘Ireland’s Most Beautiful Ancient Airs’ on Saturday, 1 February, at 2.30pm.

During this event, June Armstrong will introduce some of Ireland’s most beautiful ancient airs, rare and familiar.

It will also explore the origins of the words and the music of Danny Boy from a composer’s perspective.

June is a piano teacher living and working in Belfast.

She has composed eight volumes of piano music,

June takes much of her inspiration from the landscape and wildlife of Northern Ireland.

Her compositions are primarily intended as teaching material, with an emphasis on atmospheric pieces with the potential to exhibit flair in performance and interpretation.

Admission to this talk is free and everyone is welcome to come along.
