Talk on the Land of the Midnight Sun

THE LAND of the Midnight Sun was the topic for the ladies of Derriaghy WI at their February meeting when their guest speaker Ruth Graham of Crumlin WI spoke on the many sights that make Norway so famous.

Ruth showed a slideshow of her holiday and gave a witty talk about the spectacular scenery, mountains, fjords and waterfalls there.

President of Derriaghy WI Marie Darragh wished the members a belated Happy New Year and Penny Jarvis thanked Ruth for the talk.

Birthday girls were Marie Darragh, Derriaghy WI president and Enid Thomas.

Competition winner for a 'holiday photograph' was Elsie Crawford, while Betty Mackinnon and Ellen Crombie were runners up.

Ballot winners were Enid Thomas and Meta Tease.
