Talk uncovers secrets of A26

Driving along the A26 over the past year many of us were intrigued by the amount of archaeological work taking place as a result of preparations for the new roadscheme.

On Friday, January 16, there will be an opportunity to find out just exactly what was uncovered at a public meeting in Cloughmills Memorial Hall at 7.30pm.

Colin Dunlop and Jonathan Barkley from Northern Archaeological Consultancy will give an illustrated talk about what was uncovered along the A26 Glarryford to Drones Road improvement scheme including a detailed presentation on the Early Medieval (700AD) settlement and souterrain uncovered on the hill above Logans at Cloughmills.
