Tania takes up new post at West Church

MEMBERS of West Presbyterian Church have warmly welcomed Tania Martins Dos Santos as the congregation’s new Children’s & Family Worker.

Tania is from Goias, a state in the central part of Brazil. Her hometown is called Morrinhos – it has a population of 50,000 people. She became a Christian 12 years ago.

Explaining how, Tania said: “It all happened when my parents split up and I couldn’t cope with everything that was going on around me. So I turned to the Church and through that I got to know who Christ really is and since then He has transformed me!”

Initially, Tania headed to Edinburgh where she studied English for nearly three years before coming to Northern Ireland to enrol at Belfast Bible College.

She went on to say: “I had a friend studying at BBC and he told me about the college and I decided to apply and after five months I got accepted and then moved here. I have graduated two weeks ago with a BA in Theology, and yes I had a great time there.”

With her degree now done and dusted, Tania is really excited about being involved in the work and witness of West Church:

“I am looking forward to see what God will do! The lives he will touch and transform through mine. Also just getting to know people and show the love of Christ to them”, she smiled.

Talking about her favourite activities outside Church, Tania also said: “I love reading, especially if it is a good romance! I love dancing. I love playing with kids and having a laugh with them!”
