Tannaghmore gets gold star

TANNAGHMORE Gardens and Animal Farm has been voted by ‘netmums’ website members as one of their favourite places to go for free in Northern Ireland.

This Craigavon Borough Council run facility beat of stiff competition from various other places throughout Counties Armagh and Down to be awarded this prestigious Gold Star Award.

Netmums is the UK’s fastest growing online parenting organisation with over a million members and four million visitors a month, proving just how significant this award is for Tannaghmore.

“This is a truly fantastic accolade for Tannaghmore Gardens and Animal Farm – and of course we know it is worth it,” commented the Mayor of Craigavon, Councillor Alan Carson.

“We as a council are extremely proud of Tannaghmore and know that families from the Borough and beyond love coming down and spending a day seeing the animals, playing in the park and the gardens and getting lost in the Maze – and it’s all for free.

“We hope that this award will attract even more tourists to the area so they can see everything that Craigavon has to offer.”

Netmums.com held a poll on great places to go for free to help parents and carers find things to do in these days of recession.

Jill Harland, Northern Ireland editor of netmums.com explained: “We thought this would be a great way to help parents and grandparents to find exciting places to go with the children – for free.

“Members nominated their favourite places and a poll was held for two weeks with Tannaghmore taking one of the top spots! I am actually from the area and know exactly why people voted for this fantastic facility.”

Tannaghmore Gardens and Animal Farm features something for all the family to enjoy. The rare breeds animal farm will delight everyone with dexter calves, pygmy goats, saddleback pigs, galway lambs, a wide variety of birds, horses and donkeys.

The stunning gardens are a wonderful place to spend some time, enjoying the beautiful flowers, eye catching sculptures and of course the brilliant play park. And don’t forget to spend a bit of time getting lost in the Master McGrath Maze – always a favourite with the kids.
