Tea party a stirring success

A 'BLOOMING Great Tea Party' hosted by The Old Presbyterian Church Templepatrick on Saturday, June 24 raised £420 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The tea party, which was well supported by members of the local community and beyond, was one of many similar events taking place across the UK. The Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Blooming Great Tea Party campaign hopes to raise one million pounds for the charity this summer.

All money raised will help more Marie Curie Nurses to provide free care to patients with terminal cancer and other illnesses in the comfort of their own homes or one of the charity’s hospices.

“As always, members of our church and the wider community are very generous in their giving. Cancer touches so many lives and many people in the locality have experienced first-hand the fantastic service offered by Marie Curie nurses.”

Anne McRoberts, Area Fundraising Manager for Marie Curie Cancer Care commented: “A blooming great thank you to everyone in Northern Ireland who held a Blooming Great Tea Party this summer. So far, tea parties in Northern Ireland have raised over 15,000 which will provide 750 hours of nursing care for your local community.”
