The event, held on Saturday, July 27, raised vital funds for the Marie Curie Hospice in Belfast and the Marie Curie Nursing Service, which cost more than £4.5million each year to run.

The group served tea, coffee, traybakes and sandwiches, and the event was a massive success, raising £356 for the charity.

Thanking all those who supported the event, Grace Smyth, Community Fundraiser with Marie Curie Hospice, said: “Marie Curie Cancer Care is pleased to accept this donation of £356 which has been raised by Muriel’s North Belfast and Newtownabbey Fundraising Group. I would like to thank Linda Hamilton for opening her home to us, and the rest of the committee for taking the time to organise this very successful tea party.

“We would like to wish them every success with their future fundraising achievements. And to everyone who attended the tea party and made a donation, thank you.”
