Teachers and youth leaders aim to build positive relations

TEACHERS from the Larne, Newtownabbey and Antrim Learning Communities together with Youth Service workers from Carrickfergus, Larne and Newtownabbey attended a YESIP Peace III funded anti-sectarianism and anti-racism training course at Antrim Board Centre recently.

The course, part of the European Union’s Children and Young People’s Building Positive Relations programme, set out to engage the participants in an OCN accredited training programme around the issues of good relations with a broad focus on sectarianism, racism and promoting cultural diversity.

The course was introduced by Nigel Freeburn, Extended Schools Co-ordinator with the North Eastern Education and Library Board, and facilitated by Joe Law and Mel Corry from Trademark.
