Teenager from Kilrea killed in Co Derry crash and second man in hospital

A 19 year old male from Kilrea has died following a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a lorry in Co Derry.

A second male was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are believed to be serious.

The crash happened on the Agivey Road, Aghadowey on Saturday.

Inspector Ian Armour has appealed to anyone who was travelling on the Agivey Road yesterday at approximately 5.00pm and may have witnessed this incident to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on the non-emergency number 101.

A PSNI spokesperson said the Agivey Road will remain closed for some time and advised that motorists seek alternative routes.
