Teenager in possession of handgun

A TEENAGER who had an imitation firearm in a public place has been fined £50.

Thomas Adam William Quigley (18), of Largy Road, Ahoghill, admitted the offence at Ballymena Magistrates Court.

The court was told that when the defendant and another person were spoken to on June 14 when he was found to have a BB handgun.

Quigley said he had been at a party and could not remember the events of the evening.

Barrister Stephen Law said the defendant was one of a number of youths who had shot at each other with pellet guns.

Mr Law said Quigley intends to move to England, adding: “He has made remarkable improvements in his behaviour since he was arrested.”
