Teenager to complete order

A teenager described in court last week as “one of Banbridge’s best known offenders” has been warned that he must complete a Community Service Order.

District Judge Mr Paul Copeland made the comment in relation to Colin Brady (18) from Churchview Way, who was brought back before the court for failing to comply with an order after a conviction for disorderly behaviour.

The court heard that Brady has multiple previous convictions for drugs, disorderly behaviour, various forms of vandalism and criminal damage.

Mr Copeland said, “You are pretty casual about this alternative to a custodial sentence. But I am warning you if you give any more bother you may well face a period in custody. Just go and do this without any further excuses, winging or protests.”

The case was adjourned for eight weeks to allow Brady to complete the outstanding hours.
