Teenager’s impressive fluteperformance

SEVENTEEN year old Adam Higginson from Lisburn has just passed his fellowship, FTCL. in flute performance with Trinity College London.

Adam started his studies on flute at the age of 10 under local flautist and teacher, Brian Houston. At 12 he gained his grade 8 with distinction under the Associated Board of The Royal School of Music. He pursued his flute studies and when just 14 performed his ATCL Diploma with Trinity College London. A brilliant perfomance also gained him another distinction at this level .

At this point it was clear that Adam had his sights set on becoming a performer. To this end he studied for his ITCL Diploma and again and passed with flying colours - just one mark below distinction which was an incredible achievement for a 16-year-old.

His most recent success is his passing in fellowship Diploma in which you either pass or fail. Adam hopes to secure a position in one of the household division regimental bands.
