Work, being carried out in 216 homes, will be finished soon, with an investment of over £313,000 by the Housing Executive in its stock.

Denise McNally, Area Manager for South, is pleased with the work being carried out by contractor, Bann Ltd.

“This is a terrific boost for our tenants; I am delighted we have been able to progress this scheme,” Denise said.

“Over the years, our homes have been regularly upgraded and maintained and, in this contract, the single glazed windows which have reached the end of their useful life are being replaced with uPVC double glazed units. With their replacement, our tenants will benefit from greater energy efficiency, noise reduction, warmer homes, and lower heating costs in their homes.”

Local Housing Officer for the Housing Executive, Jackie McAlernon, said there was a high degree of satisfaction from those tenants who have received their new double glazing.

Shauna Maguire, who recently had the glazing installed, explained:
“It was great to see the new windows go in and I’ve already noticed the benefits of a warmer home and less noise. I am looking forward to seeing lower heating bills, too.”
