Tennis courts under water after Storm Frank

The newly resurfaced tennis courts at Anderson Park in Coleraine are flooded this morning after Storm Frank hit the area last night.

Local tennis coach Paul Logan sent us these pictures of the courts under water.

The area surrounding the tennis courts is also badly flooded.

In a statement, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council said: “The location is situated next to a brook which is part of the River Bann.

“With the excess in rain and extreme weather conditions the natural flood plain has enabled the brook to spill over which has flowed onto the tennis courts.

“Most of the water has now alleviated and the location will be assessed for any damage.”

Power has now been restored to homes in the Garvagh and Aghadowey area after Tuesday’s storm.

Rail passengers should note that bus substitution service is in place between Coleraine and Ballymoney due to flooding.
