Tesco fuel pumps reopened

The pumps had been closed in the run up to Christmas, after complaints from some customers of cars being damaged by contaminated fuel at the local petrol station.

At the time Tesco had issued a statement saying it was investigating a problem with “some of the diesel” sold there.

The statement continued: “A small number of customers have been affected. The pumps have been closed and we are contacting customers to apologise and resolve any problems.”

A spokesperson has since said: “Following a full investigation the pumps are operating as usual.”
