Tesco raises over 4,000 tonnes for food bank

Lurgan raised 1368.7 tonnes, Craigavon raised 1357.9 tonnes and Portadown raised 1074.4 tonnes of food.

The Craigavon Area Foodbank is part of The Trussell Trust’s UK-wide foodbank network.

Currently there are two distribution centres, one in Craigavon and one in Lurgan.

It also plans to open a third centre in Portadown within the next few months.

For many people on low incomes, a sudden crisis, redundancy, benefit delay or even an unexpected bill can mean going hungry.

The foodbank provides emergency food and support to local people in crisis.
