Texan donation opens new chapter at Corran Integrated

CHILDREN at Corran Integrated Primary School are looking forward to a new chapter in the school’s development, thanks to a donation all the way from Texas.

Corran IPS will be opening its new library soon, after integrated education supporters the Moroney family sent a gift of $20,000.

The school on Blackcave Road has been able to buy a mobile unit and the furnishing project is underway, with carpets in place and books ordered.

A recent book sale at the school saw a turnover of more than £1,000, so it’s clear the children love to read and will make the most of the new facility.

The money from the Jim and Lynn Moroney Family Foundation has been secured for Corran IPS by the Integrated Education Fund. Staff from the fund visited the school to formally hand over the cheque from Texas.

Pupils will be sending photos and letters to the donors to keep them up to date with events at the school and to thank them for their generosity.

The Integrated Education Fund (IEF) is the financial foundation for the development and growth of integrated education in Northern Ireland.
