Thank you from the heart: Alison

A COLERAINE woman has sent a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped raise money for a defibrillator for the Diamond Centre in Coleraine.

The idea was the brainchild of Alison Campbell, who sadly lost her mother to a heart condition two years ago.

Last month, Alison hosted a table quiz to raise funds for the life saving machine.

The event at the Bull’s Eye was a huge success and a great nights craic.

Auction items included signed Ulster rugby and Northern Ireland football shirts, golf memorabilia, spa vouchers, paintings and much more.

The money raised, added to the total from street collections in the Coleraine area, have ensured that the defibrillator can be purchased along with a cabinet and training for Diamond Centre staff.

Alison was thrilled and wishes to thank everyone who gave so generously.

Speaking to The Times an emotional Alison said: “I really just want to thank everyone - businesses and individuals who supported the fundraising and donated to the raffle and auction.

“The door to door collection raised £213.13 but overall we raised £2,281.31 - this is an amazing amount, and it has ensured that we are able to get the ball rolling with training and purchase of this vital piece of equipment.”

Alison added: “It gives me great comfort knowing now that if someone in Coleraine town centre needs this machine their chances of survival will be greatly increased.”
