The art of stillness will hold the key instead of rushing

“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46-10

When you find your attention begin to drift

To things that make you fretful and sad,

There’s no better time to bring to mind

Events that uplifted and made you glad.

One small step at a time is quite sufficient
When holding words of the Shepherd in mind,

Those disturbing thoughts of the unknown realm

Give way to a more tranquil kind.

Mindful we have the freedom to choose happiness

As we pray, trust and let things be,

Instead of rushing and planning too far ahead,

The art of stillness will hold the key.

Most things that we fear never happen,

Permit nothing yours spirit to sway,

There’s nothing more powerful than your faith

In the Creator of each given day.
