The Christmas lights are back on!

DROMARA residents were left angered after youths vandalised the Christmas tree only hours after the big switch-on recently.

The tree, which is part of a council grant, was without lights for over a week.

One concerned resident said, “What’s the point in the tree being there and everyone missing out on it this Christmas; everybody in the town is annoyed by what has happened.”

Lisburn City Council have since fixed the problem and light has been restored.

A spokesperson from the council said, “Lisburn City Council assists with the provision, erection and lighting of 16 community Christmas Trees in the city area by means of a grant and the Council is currently working on the provision of all its community Christmas trees.”
