The Edge moves to new home atThe Crannagh

Rob Skelly, who set up The Edge Watersports in 1996, has confirmed he has relocated the business from Hanna Boats, their base for the past 10 years, to the Crannagh Marina between Coleraine and Portstewart, just half a mile past the Council offices.

Over the past 19 years The Edge has become a leading provider of watersports activities on the Lower Bann, introducing thousands of people to waterskiing, wakeboarding, banana boating and tubing in a safe and controlled environment.

The business catered for individuals, families and youth and community groups providing safe and exciting activities for everyone.

And The Edge also had afully stocked watersports shop popular with surfers and waterskiers.

Rob, who is the main organiser of Riverfest each year on the River Bann, runs the business with his wife Joan. They have two children, Joe and Caite.

Rob said: “Rob Skelly said “As a family we are so excited about the move and are really grateful to Seamus Carey, owner of The Crannagh Marina, and to Edward Montgomery of The Honourable The Irish Society, for backing the redevelopment of the old Salmon Fisheries site.

“Joan and I are really excited about getting up and going again on our own site and we have major plans to make The Edge at The Crannagh Activity Centre a major destination with the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area. “To date the Lower Bann has been extremely underused as a recreation and tourism resource and we aim, with the help of various partners, to change this and make it a prime destination where people can come and spend a number of days packed full of activities. We are also extremely pleased to be working in conjunction with Crusoes at The Crannagh to develop this strategy. Crusoes opened on the site at Easter and with new chef Darran Benham now on the staff the quality of the food is excellent and the restaurant is now open in the evenings, the whole Crannagh site is becoming a major hub for tourists and locals alike.”
