The Queen and the Toon! Monday 28 May- Saturday 30 June 2012

Ballymoney Museum is marking the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II with another chance to see photographs and vintage film from the Coronation visit of 3rd July 1953.

The display, entitled ‘The Queen and the Toon’, runs from Monday 28th May - Saturday 30th June and will also feature a small selection of royal collectibles and souvenirs from the 60 year reign of Her Majesty.

In addition, the exhibition ‘On this year...’ by Ballymoney Council looks at the life and times in the Borough in 1953, the year of the Queen’s visit, and runs from Monday 4th June - Saturday 9th June with a late night opening to 9pm on Tuesday 5th June.

Royal enthusiasts are invited to hear an entertaining talk by local historian S. Alex Blair as he recalls the story of the Queen’s visit and reveals Her Majesty’s links to the ancient Kings of Dalriada.  There is no admission fee for Mr. Blair’s talk and it takes place on Thursday 7th June 2012 at 8pm in Ballymoney Town Hall. 

Admission to the exhibitions is also free and opening hours are Monday – Thursday & Saturday 9am-5pm & Friday 9am-4.30pm.
