The running man!

Last Saturday, Harry completed his first treadmill marathon at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre, Ballymoney.

One could say Harry’s a glutton for punishment, as he ran in the Connemara Ultra Marathon just six days before!

Harry has set himself five events to raise money for the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children.

He’s already completed the Larne Marathon (13.1 miles) and the Connemara Ultra marathon (39.3 miles). But he’s got his sights set on two more - Belfast on May 3 and the Dublin in October.

“I decided to add in the treadmill marathon, as it was something different, “ Harry told the Times.

“I hoped it would catch the eye of the public and raise awareness of the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children. They do magnificent work with local children and their families.”

Harry would like to thank the staff of the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre for their support and help during the event. In particular he thanked Paul Lynes, Centre Manager, for allowing the event to take place.

“Benny Knight, assistant Manager and Karen McAuley, Duty Manager also have to be thanked for ensuring that everything I needed was in place for the marathon”.

Harry also thanked David McFadden and his daughter Rebecca who supplied food and drinks and the public who supported him.
