Theatre group back at the Market Place

THE Armagh Theatre Group is returning to The Market Place Theatre in Armagh this month.

The renowned group are putting on their production of Bernard Farrell’s ‘Happy Birthday Dear Alice,’

It tells the story of Alice and her late husband’s business partner’s attempts to stop Alice being put in a residential home by her children.

Bernard Farrell has won the Rooney Prize for Literature and the Sunday Tribune Comedy of the Year Award for ‘Forty-four sycamore,’ and, in ‘Happy Birthday Dear Alice’ his usual wit, panache and style give voice to the elderly in society, questioning the whole nature of family itself.

The play is to be performed from Thursday, January 28 to Saturday, January 30, at 8pm each evening, with tickets costing 10 or 8 (concession) and can be bought by contacting the Box Office on 3752 1821, or online at www.marketplacearmagh.com.
