Theatre group to open shop in Meadowlane shopping centre in Magherafelt

The first ‘creative shop’ in Mid Ulster will open in Magherafelt next month (12 October).

Used as a space for creative projects - from screening films and story-telling to gigs and dancing – the pop-up shop will be opening its doors in Meadowlane Shopping Centre when the Big Telly Theatre Company take over a vacant unit for the 6-week programme which is supported by Mid Ulster District Council.

Big Telly, the longest established professional theatre company in Northern Ireland, has been travelling to towns around the country, converting unused retail space into a hub for all things artistic, taking the lead from local people and community groups to fill the shop with creative activity.
