Theft at Larne off-licence

DETECTIVES in Larne are appealing for information after money was stolen from business premises during a distraction theft incident.

Last Wednesday (May 5), at about 3pm, a group of four women and two men went into an off-licence at Point Street in Larne and while some distracted a staff member, one of the women went into a back room and stole money.

The incident came just a few days after a similar distraction theft in Ballymena. Police are investigating whether the same gang was involved in both incidents. In both cases, at least one of the women appeared to be pregnant.

Anyone who can help identify the thieves is asked to contact the CID in either Ballymena or Larne. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
