Theft from vehicles in Portrush area

POLICE are urging motorists to lock their cars when left unattended following reports of thefts in the Magheramenagh and Hopefield areas of Portrush.

An Acer laptop computer, a Navman Sat Nav, a black coat, and a purse containing bank cards have been stolen from four vehicles parked overnight on Tuesday night October 12, at Magheramenagh Drive and Hopefield Grove areas of in Portrush.

A fifth vehicle, a silver Vauxhall Vectra, the keys of which were stolen during a burglary of a house at Hopefield Grove was later found abandoned at the Harbour in Portstewart.

Two juveniles arrested on suspicion of burglary and taking and driving away a motor vehicle were later released on police bail pending further enquiries into the matter.

Witnesses to the incidents are asked to get in touch with the police at Portrush.
