Thefts from commercial premises

POLICE in Foyle are appealing for site owners and commercial premises to be vigilant following the theft of wooden fencing from a car park on the Buncrana Road on Saturday (August 1st).

Similarly wooden pallets were taken from premises in the Springtown area around 6pm on Tuesday (10th).

This is often the time of year when people will be gathering up materials for use on bonfires. While the majority of materials are lawfully acquired, some people will break into building sites and other premises to gather up wood or anything else they can burn.

A the end of the day and working week make sure extra materials are locked away in containers or safely stored elsewhere.

Police are also asking residents who live close to ongoing building works to report any suspicious activity on site after business hours. The telephone number to ring is 0845 600 8000.
