With six points already on his licence he was disqualified on the tot up system for six months.

He was also fined £25 for not having a vehicle test certificate.

The court heard the offences came to light when he was stopped at 2.20pm on the A1 dual carriageway at Loughbrickland.

When cautioned he said: “There’s no excuse for it.”

A barrister asked the court to keep the ban to six months.
