There’s now more than one reason to cross the Rope Bridge

THE National Trust is holding a volunteers day at the salmon fishery on Carrick-a-Rede Island this Saturday.

The Trust has secured funding from the Rural Development Programme to restore the former fishery at Carrick-a-Rede. The project is near completion and the National Trust is calling on volunteers to help in the final stages of the project.

The project is titled “Beyond the Bridge” and will form a unique aspect of preservation of local maritime heritage of the North Coast including enhancing local tourism for the Ballintoy area.
