Thieves took TV and food from house

Police in Banbridge are on the lookout for thieves operating in the Gilford area.

They are appealing for information following two burglaries overnight between Friday, 10 May and Saturday, 11 May.

The first burglary occurred at a house in Mill Street.

The front door of the property was forced open.

Fortunately the would-be thieves left empty handed as nothing was taken - although the property owner faces the expense of repairs.

But during the second burglary, which occurred in Dunbarton Street, entry was forced and a 42 inch flat screen television and DVD player were taken.

Food was also removed from the kitchen.

Police are appealing to anyone who has information in relation to the burglaries to contact them. They can be contacted in Banbridge on 0845 600 8000.

If you prefer to provide information without giving your details you can contact the independent Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
