Craigavon saw 323 marriages last year of which 21% were civil partnerships.

In the southern trust area there were six civil partnerships, two male and four female.

The groom’s average age in Craigavon is 32.1 while the average age of the bride is 30.4, approximately five years older than was the case two decades previously.

Most couples were not married previously, a total of 83%.

However almost half of the couples lived at the same adress before marrying - 46%.

Only six per cent of couples were resident outside Northern Ireland.

In Craigavon there were a total of 269 divorcees - the highest outside Belfast.

Of these 131 were male divorcees while there were 138 female divorcees.

Brownlow House is one of the top locations for wedding receptions in Northern Ireland.

While there were no civil partnerships carried out there, a total of 15 religious services took place during 2013.

In the Armagh/Banbridge/Craigavon region there were 547 divorcees which comprised of 260 male divorcees and 287 female
divorcees.

While across the Province there was 8126 couples getting wed in 2013, there was a staggering 2,403
divorces.

The number of marriages varied throughout the year, ranging from a low of 200 in January to a high of 1,305 in August.

Saturday, August 17 2013 and Saturday, September 28 2013 were jointly the most popular days to get married last year, with 93 couples getting married on each of
these days.
