THIS IS THE ONE FOR FESTIVAL GOERS

THE star-studded line-up for Banbridge's first live festival has been announced as music fans everywhere gear up for a summer to remember.

One of the UK's most successful tribute acts, The Complete Stone Roses, will headline the event at Corbet Lough on July 3.

Banbridge man Aaron McCrumlish has teamed up with David Fairbairn, from Newry, to establish an annual showcase event for the biggest and best up-and-coming music acts.

Along with bands such as And So I Watch You From Afar, Panama Kings and Strait Laces, the Stone Roses tribute act will provide a day's entertainment for people of all ages wanting to beat those recession blues.

The headliners have received praise from Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown in the past. Former Stone Roses bass player Mani said the band "do our songs real justice. At times, they play even better than we did".

Further acclaim has come from a former Happy Mondays guitarist and Stone Roses fan Kav. He said, "With pumping Roses drums 'n' bass and John Squire guitars and with a young Ian Brown vocal, you can't help but get up and listen!"

Tickets, priced at 25, are now on sale for the festival which is being held in association with Tennants & Magners.

Critically-acclaimed Portadown band, And So I Watch You From Afar, have played a mammoth 170 gigs all over Europe in the past year.

Joining this exciting talent on the main stage will be the winner of the 'Battle to the Bridge' competition, chosen in the weeks leading up to the event.

The closing date for entries is March 31 and with over 40 entries already submitted, there is no doubt an exciting new act will be showing what they're made of alongside those already on their way to the big-time.
