Thomas takes leap of faith

LURGAN man Thomas Lappin took a leap of faith recently to raise money for Marie Curie cancer care.

He took part in a 140ft high zipwire across the River Lagan at 40mph to raise money for the charity.

He said: “Being afraid of heights I was extremely anxious, but talking to the other participants, who had all been touched by cancer, gave me the courage to keep calm and carry on.”

You could say it was one small step for a Lurgan man, one giant leap for Marie Curie cancer care.

He added: “I would recommend the Zipwire Challenge to anyone looking for a fundraising idea. It’s great fun for a great cause.”
