Thought he was covered to drive
Eight penalty points were imposed on a Lurgan man last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving without insurance on October 1 last year.
Thirty two year old Daniel James Patrick McManus, Garland Heights, Lurgan, was also fined £250 for the offence.
As well he was fined £60 and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy for using a mobile phone while driving.
Mr Gabriel Ingram, representing the defendant, said when McManus first spoke to police he thought he was covered. He was driving his father’s car as his own was in for repair.
