Thoughts of Christmas lighten the way as shadows fall

“Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” LUKE 2:12

How thoughts of Christmas lighten the pathway,

Though evenings shorten and shadows fall

And once again we warmly recall

A little babe cradled in a stall.

Sent with such love to a dying world,

To brighten the future for you and me

And offer us a life more rewarding

With grace to set the spirit free.

Endow us with strength to meet every trial

We may encounter each passing day

And as we turn to Him in faith

He’s ever present to lead the way.

Now little children are filled with expectancy

And as we plan to make their day,

May we greatly implant the story

Of the babe upon the hay.
