Thousands participate in ‘Danny Boy’ record attempt
As the Guildhall clock in Londonderry chimed the half hour at 12.30pm today, Friday, thousands of people packed into the square in a bid to set a new World Record.
Whether or not the record attempt was successful was not known as the vast crowd sang ‘Danny Boy’ to the tune ‘Londonderry Air’, but one thing was certain - it was an incredible experience for those who took part.
From babes in arms to grannies and grandads, pupils in school uniform to hot dog vendors, everyone gave it their all.
