Three arrests after car crash in Lisburn

Three people were arrested after a suspected stolen car was involved in a crash on the Belsize Road in Lisburn, on Tuesday morning (March 22).

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the incident.

It followed a creeper style burglary in the Harberton Drive area of south Belfast on Monday.

At around 11pm it was reported that a home in the area was entered and a brown Audi A3 car was stolen after the keys were taken from the house.

Shortly before 8.45am on Tuesday morning the car was involved in a crash on the Belsize Road at its junction with Wilmar Road.

The suspects, two males aged 16 and 18 and an 18 year old female, were arrested.

Detective Sergeant Michael Hawthorne of Musgrave PSNI is appealing to anyone who witnessed the burglary or who many have information to ring them on 101.
