He thanked the Session and Congregation for their support and encouragement, especially those who have prayed for him. Among those whom he thanked personally, who were in attendance and had been a great influence in his life, were Dr. Alan Cairns (former minister of the congregation) and Dr. Bill Woods (veteran missionary of 54 years in Brazil). Rev. Park paid special tribute to his family for their support, prayers and encouragement, especially to his wife, Susan, and children. He also paid special tribute to Mr. John Currie, one of the elders, who, despite his illness, has been an inspiration and example to him.

He said: “‘If God has been pleased to use me in some small way in His work, I am honoured,’ and gave Him the praise and glory for all that has been accomplished. Quoting the Apostle Paul, he testified, ‘Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day.”
