Three dog attacks

THREE dogs attacks on people were recorded by council officers in Londonderry in April.

Thirty instances of dogs straying and twelve instances of dogs fouling were also recorded.

Twenty dogs were impounded, five were reclaimed, sixteen were registered as unwanted, twenty were sold or rehomed and eleven were humanely destroyed.

Eleven fixed penalty notices were served on negligent dog owners and fifty health check and neutering vouchers issued.

The figures were contained in a report by Derry City Council's Chief Environmental Health Officer for June.
