Three men arrested on suspicion of theft

Three men were arrested on suspicion of theft in Lisburn city centre on Thursday May 12.

A Citywatch CCTV operator spotted these males and recognised that one of the males was wanted for no less than six bulk thefts from across Northern Ireland.

Two of the males appeared to be travelling in a white van, whilst the third was travelling in a Mercedes car.

Police stopped the two males in the van and a CityWatch operator was dispatched to follow the third man to ensure he didn’t get away until police arrived.

The third man was stopped and arrested on suspicion of seven thefts and the other two males were arrested on suspicion of theft.

A large amount of goods was recovered and police are in the process of identifying where they might have been stolen from.

Both the van and the Mercedes car was seized by police for being used in crime.
