Those installed were Avril Chambers, David Campbell and Richard Kennedy, who were firstly ordained by a Commission of the Presbytery of Derry & Donegal, and their role will be to join the Kirk Session as they lead Glendermott forward.

Among the many guests who joined the Glendermott congregation for the event was Rev Mark Shaw. Rev Shaw is the Minister of Stabane Presbyterian Church and, in his role as Moderator, he led the service and installed the new Elders.

Also a guest at the service was Rev Dr Robert Buick, the Presbytery Clerk, who assisted Rev Shaw during the service. Meanwhile, Rev Stewart Glendinning from Malin, Carndonagh, Moville and Greenbank congregations gave the Scriptural Warrant for the Eldership and Rev Knox Jones, from Waterside Presbyterian Church, read the Scripture reading, taken from the Gospel of Matthew.

Incumbent Minister, Rev John Hanna, gave the charge to the new elders and congregation, who spoke on the importance of Christian Leadership today.

The Church Choir, under the baton of Mark Smith rendered the lovely Anthem ‘The Worker’s Prayer’, and led the congregation in singing hymns which were chosen by the new Elders.

The service was followed by supper.
