Thunderstorm passes over city

The horrendous summer storms which plagued Londonderry during the week, causing flash floods, look set to be a feature of the summer weather.

Global warming has been blamed for the clammy, damp weather, which has this week alone seen three spectacular thunderstorms pass over the city.

Attached is a short video of the one which passed overhead, moving north from the Sperrins and Donegal, on its way to the North Sea.

It shows the thunderclouds directly over the city while the skies over lower Drumahoe and further along Glendermott Road remain under blue skies.
