A spokesperson said: “Pipe Major Gordon Walker is one not to be missed and I would like to stress that this is a ticket-only event, due to the numbers restriction at the venue.

“We would therefore encourage people who would like to see Gordon ‘live in recital’ to purchase their tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

“This will be our third annual recital and one that we are very much looking forward to. Gordon is no stranger to these shores and has always put on an electric performance wherever he has played.”

The recital this year will be held on Saturday (November 15) again at Barban Hill.

“There will be no doubt,” the spokespeson said, “that Gordon will attract a big crowd given his status as a recorded piper on The World’s Greatest Pipers CD Series”.

Membership entitles memebers to free entry into all events organised by the society; they therefore will not need to purchase a ticket for themselves.

Food will be served during the evening by way of a hot buffet; tea and coffee and is included in the ticket price.

“We will also have live traditional music from ‘Bearnagh’ during the evening and a raffle will also take place,” the spokesperson added.

“As a society we look forward to organising our recital nights as they bring people together in enjoyment of the Great Highland Bagpipe, and we look forward to seeing you there.

“All details of tickets and the event can be found on the facebook page.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased from the society secretary on: 078 1253 8701 or email: [email protected]. Tickets cost £12.50 each.
