A Portadown couple caught up in the evacuation of Manchester United's Premier League game has captured the scenes of fans leaving Old Trafford.

David Jameson and his wife, Vicki, posted the footage on Facebook - with United’s game against Bournemouth abandoned on the final day of the football season following the discovery of a suspect package.

An Army bomb disposal unit arrived at the stadium after the decision to abandon the game on police advice.

“We realised it was serious and not a drill by the reaction of the Manchester United staff, with some crying.

“Quite a few women and children were crying in the car park, with thousands heading out into the car park then walking back towards the city.

People were climbing over the railings and everything to get away.”
