The showing features the work of seven choreographers collaborating to create a single evening of exciting dance with new scores from British composers and stage designs from leading contemporary artists. The screening will also include exclusive backstage footage and live audience interaction, adding to the theatrical atmosphere of the live event.

The Royal Opera House has billed Metamorphosis: Titian 2012 as a special collaboration between the Royal Opera House and the National Gallery, London.

It features some of the finest names in contemporary choreography, art, poetry and music. The creative stimulus for this programme is three masterpieces by the Renaissance artist Titian, which are being displayed together in the National Gallery this summer: Diana and Actaeon, The Death of Actaeon and Diana and Callisto. They depict powerful stories of change, inspired by Ovid’s poem Metamorphoses.

The Live Site is just one of 21 sites throughout the UK to take part in the live link-up, and the event is being staged as part of the London 2012 Festival.
